Our Story

This is the story of Coffee Culture Roastery - where every bean tells a tale, every sip starts a conversation, and every year adds a layer to our rich, caffeinated legacy.

Our Philosophy

From the outset, Thomas envisioned Coffee Culture Roastery as more than just a coffee shop; he saw it as a conduit for a deeper, more meaningful connection between the earth and the espresso cup. This farm-to-cup philosophy has been the backbone of our enterprise since day one, guiding every decision and defining every relationship.

Coffee Culture Roastery is a place in Bacolod where pretense is left at the door, and genuine connections brew over the rich aroma of coffee. Our deal is simple: we're making awesome coffee accessible to everyone, demystifying the journey from bean to brew, cloaking its unnecessary complexity.

Awards and accolades aren't what define us, the real trophy is the community that loves our coffee. This shop is more than a caffeine pit stop; it's a community hotspot where the chat flows as smoothly as the pour-over.

Our Mission

We want to spark happiness, one cup at a time, in a spot that feels like your second home. With a nod to sustainability and a commitment to our coffee community.

Our Vision

Dreaming big, we want Coffee Culture Roastery to be one's go-to in Bacolod — the spot where coffee lovers and the sense of belongingness collide.

Our Journey

From humble beginnings to coffee excellence

2006

Seeds Sown

Thomas was not just dabbling in coffee; he was rewriting the script for Bacolod's coffee saga. Through the help of friendlies in various NGOs, he started schooling farmers on how to up their coffee game. It was less about sowing seeds and more about planting ideas.

2007

Manila Leap

Enter Figaro Coffee Company. They caught wind of his efforts and, boom, Bacolod beans hit Manila. It was our 'mic drop' moment in the coffee world.

2008

Special Start

The journey into specialty coffee began with a Roasting and Blending Class by Willem Boot in Mill Valley, California, followed by a hands-on roasting stint at Jones Coffee Company in Pasadena. This year laid the groundwork for a deep dive into the world of fine coffees.

2012

Coffee Works

Thomas was certified with the Q Arabica Grader certificate from Mane Alves at the Coffee Quality Institute in Taipei, marking a significant professional advancement.

2013

Master is Born

Thomas went to Jakarta to obtain the Q Robusta Grader Certification from Rocky Rhodes. This achievement made history, establishing him as the first person in the Philippines certified in both Arabica and Robusta grading.

2016

Brand's Birth

The dream crystallized into Coffee Culture Roastery. By November 2016, the doors swung open, welcoming all to a new coffee chapter. This place wasn't just about sipping specialty coffee; it was about democratizing the brew, one cup at a time.

2021

The Rise

Workshops, Slow Food Coffee Coalition, and coffee trails. The roastery morphed into a coffee dojo, where knowledge flowed as freely as espresso. It was about good, clean, and fair coffee - a manifesto written in beans and steam.
